Let's go over the alerts in the WaveTrend Momentum indicator.

1.2 ANY Wave Turn - will give you an alert on 1.0 and 1.1

Trend Alerts (2.0 - 2.3)

Background Color & Higher Timeframe Alerts

You can enable a higher timeframe for the Trend Strength Line.

This means that the Trend Strength line is now sourced from the timeframe you select in the list.

HTF Trend Strength Line - Alerts

Once you have selected the timeframe you basically set new alerts for the Trend Strength Line.

HTF "As Background Color" - Alerts

Instead of displaying the Trend Strength Line from a higher timeframe, you can select to display the trend as a background color. The background color is based on the sign of the Trend Strength line from the timeframe you select. If the Trend Strength line is positive the background color will be green, if the Trend Strength line is negative the background color will be red.

So if you want to set alerts for the Background color, you simply set alerts for the Trend Strength line.
